Founded in 1995 by the Bayter family, El Vergel Estate has become one of Colombia’s most progressive and experimental producers. From their early transition into coffee in 2009 to pioneering advanced natural and fermentation methods, the estate continues to redefine what Colombian coffee can be.
Today, led by brothers Elias and Shady Bayter, El Vergel manages more than 28 varietals and is recognised for its scientific approach to processing, including advanced aerobic and anaerobic fermentations and the development of Colombia’s first Koji fermentation process.
